Our self-contained classrooms, each led by a dedicated Special Education Teacher and supported by up to two Instructional Assistants, provide a supportive setting for learning and growth. The Role: As a Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in our students' lives. Your responsibilities will include: •Running a homeroom, developing and implementing IEPs, delivering direct instruction, adapting curriculum, monitoring progress, fostering a positive classroom environment. •Direct instruction of students in core academic areas and electives, including lesson planning using state standards and common core curriculum where applicable and grading. This position is full time and requires: •A Bachelor's degree and special education teaching experience in non-public schools. •Possess an Extensive Needs Education Specialist credential, an Intern Credential for Education Specialist Extensive Needs. •Those who qualify for a Provisional Intern Permit (PIP) or Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) are strongly encouraged to apply

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
California Clear Credential or Intern Credential in Special Education; Special Education teaching experience in non-public schools highly preferred; Experience working with students with ED, LH, MR, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc. strongly recommended.
COMPUTER/OFFICE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Microsoft Office; General Office Skills; Excellent Reading and Writing Skills; Excellent Classroom management skills;
PHYSICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to commute to various sites; ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
CLEARANCES REQUIRED:
DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index; Insurability under Corporate Automobile Insurance
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
• Plan, organize and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
• Conduct pre and post-testing using standardized tests for each student.
• As a part of a team, write and implement goals as outlined in each student's IEP.
• Be responsible for managing the student behavior in the classroom.
• Complete reports as required.
• Demonstrate competency in all subject areas and schedule the classroom day to include instruction in all curriculum areas
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Meetings
• Supervise Instructional Aides assigned to the classroom.
• Actively participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan
• Assume other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
