Located in the scenic, sea-side communities of Santa Monica and Malibu, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is a preK-12 school district serving approximately 8,835 students. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, or designee, and consistent with the Counselor on Special Assignment (COSA) job description, the COSA – STATS supports the development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the Short-Term Academic and Therapeutic Support (STATS) Program. The COSA provides leadership, coordination, and direct services to students, ensuring the integration of academic and therapeutic supports for students experiencing significant social-emotional and behavioral challenges. This role ensures services are aligned within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to stabilize students, maintain academic continuity, and support successful reintegration to comprehensive school sites. The position is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of services, including service logs and progress notes, to support program evaluation, compliance, and reimbursement through the School-Linked Fee Schedule, in alignment with district, state, and federal requirements.
