Job Summary

The effective teacher develops and delivers engaging, standards-based instruction that meets the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students in a K–8 setting. Teachers at Alianza implement our 90/10 Dual Language Immersion Program, providing instruction in both English and Spanish while promoting bilingualism, biliteracy, high academic achievement, and cross-cultural understanding. Teachers use student data to assess prior learning, set meaningful growth goals, and establish high expectations for every student. Collaboration with families and colleagues is essential to supporting student success. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.

PVUSD offers the following incentives: Masters and Doctorate degree stipends of $2,142 Outstanding benefits for full-time Certificated staff: Employees Only: $0 Employee +1: $56 per month Employee + 2 or more: $90 per month Dental (Delta): $0 Vision (VSP): $0 Basic Life Insurance for employee $0 Insurance Plans: Kaiser, BlueShield PPO, BlueShield HMO, Anthem PPO, HSA (Health Savings Account) Bilingual Stipend The District will provide a stipend of 3.66% of step 1 Column 1 to a classroom teacher if the following conditions are met: a. The teacher has a Bilingual Authorization or Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate (BCLAD) b. The teacher is teaching in a District designated bilingual program as designated by our PVUSD English Learner Master Plan or is serving as a MEST teacher in the Migrant Education program, in the year the stipend is paid. The Pajaro Valley Unified School District is located in the beautiful Santa Cruz County, California. Pajaro Valley Unified School District is one of the largest school districts in Northern California, presently serving a K-12 student population of approximately 20,000. The District also has an experienced staff to address the needs of the students and the schools. The District currently employs 1,100 certificated and 900 classified employees.
