Under the direction of the Director of the Conservatory and the Assistant Principal of Arts, Conservatory Teachers plan, develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive educational program for students in the skills of their specified art discipline, create a supportive and flexible learning environment to nurture each student’s personal growth, and collaborate with colleagues to reflect on and refine instructional practice. Instrumental Music Teacher – Bass Methods serves as a teaching artist responsible for educating, mentoring, and inspiring students in the study and performance of bass across a variety of musical styles, including electric bass, acoustic/upright bass, jazz, classical, popular music, and contemporary commercial genres. This position provides comprehensive instruction for students of varying skill levels while fostering a creative, challenging, and supportive learning environment aligned with the school’s mission and artistic standards. The teacher develops and delivers engaging lessons that emphasize core musicianship and bass fundamentals, including technique, tone production, rhythm, reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, ensemble skills, and stylistic versatility. The instructor guides students in developing a strong musical foundation applicable to solo and ensemble performance settings while preparing them for concerts, recitals, assessments, and school events. The teacher evaluates student progress, provides constructive feedback, and supports the artistic and personal growth of each student. In addition, this role collaborates with faculty, administration, and families to maintain high academic, behavioral, and performance expectations while contributing positively to the overall success and growth of the music program. Class: Bass Methods Class Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM
