Under the direction of the Director of the Conservatory and the Assistant Principal of Arts, Conservatory Teachers plan, develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive educational program for students in the skills of their specified art discipline, create a supportive and flexible learning environment to nurture each student’s personal growth, and collaborate with colleagues to reflect on and refine instructional practice. The Instrumental Music Teacher – Brass Methods serves as a teaching artist responsible for educating, mentoring, and inspiring students in the field of brass performance and instrumental musicianship. This position provides instruction and rehearsal leadership for students of varying skill levels across all brass instruments, including trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba, while fostering a creative, challenging, and supportive learning environment aligned with the school’s mission and artistic standards. The teacher develops and delivers engaging lessons and rehearsals designed to strengthen students’ individual brass skills, including tone production, embouchure development, breath support, articulation, intonation, technique, range development, music literacy, and overall musicianship. Students are guided in applying these skills within ensemble settings and in preparation for concerts, performances, auditions, and school events. In addition, this role evaluates student progress and supports the artistic and personal growth of each student while collaborating with faculty, administration, and families to maintain high academic, behavioral, and performance expectations and contribute positively to the overall success of the music program. Class: Brass Methods Class Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 2:40 PM – 3:40 PM
