POSITION DESCRIPTION: All special education staff are District employees. Specific location to be determined by Director of Special Education DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Provide individual and small group specialized instruction services for students with language, speech and related disorders such as students with autism, learning disabilities, orthopedically impaired, etc. E; provide identification, assessment and services to children with intensive special education needs E; plan, develop and implement IEP’s E; plan and coordinate with special and regular education teachers to ensure classroom success for the students E; provide necessary staff development and consultation E; provide training for parents in conducting supplemental speech and language activities in the home and in areas such as normal child development E; other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: 1. Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing designated instruction and service in speech and language development and remediation and have appropriate previous experience 2. Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members.
