The Freshman Head Cross Country Coach is responsible for leading and developing a positive, inclusive, and competitive program for first-year high school runners. This role focuses on teaching fundamental running techniques, promoting physical fitness, and fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Requirements / Qualifications
Prior cross country coaching experience at the high school level or higher is preferred, though qualified candidates with comparable experience are encouraged to apply.
Application Requirements: -Completed EdJoin Application -Letter of Introduction REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL COACHES (once selected): - NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching & the CA State Component - Concussion Certificate - Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate - Valid CPR Certificate - Valid First Aid Certificate - Heat Acclimatization Certificate - TB test - Guidelines for the Workplace & Youth Sports Protocol & Recommendations (link will be provided) - Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse Certificate) - Fingerprint clearance (once hired, the applicant will receive an appointment from Human Resources for the fingerprint process)

The salaries to be paid for extra duty assignments are based on a percentage of Column Il of the existing salary schedule. Internal candidates will be considered first with Certificated personnel being priority followed by classified and other personnel.
