Job Summary

The Poway Unified School District is seeking applications for the 2026-2027 school year for a Varsity Boys and Girls Golf Head Coach at Rancho Bernardo High School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in golf, coaching experience, and a commitment to student-athlete development. The head coach will oversee all aspects of the program: scheduling games, athlete development, administrative duties, communication, assistant coach oversight, and a positive program culture.

Key Responsibilities: • Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture • Support the academic and personal growth of student-athletes • Ability to positively and effectively communicate with players, parents, assistant coaches and athletic department • Organize effective and efficient daily practices that promote athletic improvement • Manage all program administrative requirements • Ensure compliance with CIF, NCC, PUSD, and RBHS policies and rules. Required Qualifications: • Previous golf coaching experience at the high school • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills • The ability to meet all CIF and PUSD standards for hiring: o Background check o Tuberculosis clearing o CPR/AED/First Aid certification (in person skills assessment required) o NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification o NFHS Concussion in Sports certification o NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification o NFHS Heat Illness Prevention certification o 3 district mandated training certifications
