Located in Orange County, the Mission of the California Republic Leadership Academy (CRLA) is to develop the next generation of leaders in mind, character, and practice through a virtue-based education that leads a scholar to servant leadership through the pursuit of truth and the development of virtue and wisdom. CRLA is a new and growing charter public school network with schools in San Juan Capistrano and in Yorba Linda. CRLA is launching a new school in Saddleback Valley in the 2026/27 school year.

*Please send a resume and COVER LETTER to: brittany.rineer@crlayorbalinda.org* POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher, Elementary REPORTING TO: Principal, Office Manager GENERAL SUMMARY: The Substitute Elementary Teacher provides high quality instruction within a small school environment, serves students in grades TK-5, and upholds the mission and values of CRLA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Establish a culture of high expectations that includes the shared belief of raising good citizens through teaching and fostering moral values • Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with California State Standards and Classical Education standards • Assess students and analyze student results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs • Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices; share best practices • Communicate with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress • Involve parents and guardians as partners in their students’ education • Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged • Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with teachers, principal, and other staff members • Maintain accurate student records including attendance • Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs. • Support the mission, vision, and core values of CRLA • Perform other related duties as required and assigned QUALIFICATIONS 1) Required knowledge, skills & abilities: • Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles • Knowledge of subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks • Knowledge of assessments • Ability and willingness to implement CRLA instructional guidelines and best practices • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
