Requirements / Qualifications

MATERIALS: • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization (ELA) or CLAD certification required. • Experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Requirements In accordance with California Education Code Section 48000(g), credentialed teachers first assigned to a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom after July 1, 2015, must meet one of the following requirements by August 1, 2025: • At least 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a combination of both; or • Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-aged children that is determined by the District to be comparable to the 24-unit requirement; or • A Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The District is committed to supporting qualified candidates and can provide guidance regarding available pathways and options for meeting the TK authorization requirements. Teachers who were assigned to teach TK, or a combination of TK and Kindergarten, on or before July 1, 2015, are exempt from the additional TK requirements outlined in Education Code Section 48000(g).

District contribution for health benefits shall be equal to the annual cost of Kaiser medical employee only plus a monthly contribution of $300 towards Employee + one or full family.
