Job Summary

An administrative position responsible to the Director of Head Start/State Preschool, Children’s Center, to supervise, plan, evaluate, organize, and coordinate the implementation of all preschool programs, as well as the preschool summer school programs. Assist the Director in promoting the classroom services, administrative support enrollment efforts, monitor performance and compliance of Child Development programs to conform to state and federal requirements. Meet state and federal program requirements related to Early Childhood Education

Requirements / Qualifications

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: 1. Letter of Intent outlining any unique qualifications. 2. Resume of employment and educational history. 3. Copy of Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education or related field. 4. Copy of a valid CA Child Development Director’s Permit. 5. Copy of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. 6. Three (3) current letters of recommendation (dated within 12 months). 7. Copies of any professional training related to Head Start. Desirable: • Bilingual ability • Computer literacy EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Any combination of experience and education that could provide the required knowledge and ability would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five (5) years of successful professional teaching Three (3) years of successful management experience is desired Three (3) years of successful Teacher On Special Assignment experience Education: Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education or related field. Desired: Master’s Degree Certification and Licenses: 1. Possession of California’s Child Development Director’s Permit 2. Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Condition of Employment: Insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier.
