POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Principal, instruct a self-contained classroom utilizing the state content standards and course of study adopted by the school district. PLANNING: Implement school level objectives and philosophy, goals and policies adopted by the District and the State Board of Education. E; develop short and long-range lesson plans based upon definite objectives for a thorough instructional program. E; communicate with parents, support staff, and other sources to assess and meet special needs and abilities of pupils. E; provide planned learning experiences to motivate pupils and to best utilize available time for instruction. E MANAGEMENT: Act in a positive and accepting manner so as to create an atmosphere in which children may develop a healthy self-concept and self-discipline.
