Job Summary

Elementary 4/5th Grade Combo class (1.0 FTE) Primary Function Elementary teachers are responsible for creating an organized and effective classroom environment in which students can grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and critically. Their teaching style should reflect the values, classroom management approaches and teaching methodology expressed in the Tierra Pacifica Charter. This includes actively teaching from California state standards for the appropriate grade level, understanding how systems of oppression impact the student experience and classroom dynamics, and working toward educational equity and social justice. Multiple subject teachers collaborate with colleagues and the School Director to develop an equity-aware, arts-enriched, developmentally appropriate program. They are responsible for monitoring and assessing student progress to inform the course of instruction and document progress; communicating professionally and appropriately with parents, colleagues, and students; and supporting the collaborative community of the charter school.

This position requires a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Copy of Transcript (Undergrad and Graduate Transcripts are required for salary placement) Credential Copy English Learner Authorization (or CLAD/BCLAD) Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three current letters of recommendation) Resume Employment is conditional upon satisfaction set forth below: -DOJ Clearance /Background Check -AB 2534 Egregious Misconduct Check -TB Clearance -Valid CA Driver’s License -Verification of Appropriate California Credential(s)
