Brief Description of Essential Duties Under the supervision of the site administrator, provides an educational program for students encompassing basic skills and motivating students to develop the skills, attitude, and knowledge needed for a good educational foundation and prepares students as follows: • Uses information about individual students’ academic strengths, needs, and progress in planning • Provide academic service to engage student in work aligned to the California Common Core Standards • Uses resources that will promote high levels of learning and student engagement • Follows established policies and procedures for reporting incidents (e.g., child abuse, bullying, harassment, and violence) Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree plus appropriate coursework to qualify for teaching credential 2. Appropriate CA credential authorizing the teaching of students in a departmentalized ELD, such as one of the following authorizations with a Single Subject Credential: Full English Learner Authorization (or CLAD Emphasis) ELA1, CLAD Certificate SA12, Bilingual Authorization BA**, Single Subject Teaching Credential in World Language: ELD content area WLEL, WLEX, Supplementary Authorization in English as a Second Language (ESL) R2B (ESL subject), Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Introductory English as a Second Language R1B (IESL subject). A CA Single Subject Credential in World Languages: Spanish is preferred.
