Position Title: Chief Student-Development Officer (CSO)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (or designee)

Pay Range: Based upon experience & student enrollment
Work Schedule: 12 months
Location: Remote Office (Travel Required)
Position Summary: The Chief Student Development Officer (CSO) at Elite Academic Academy is a key member of the Executive Cabinet, reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a strategic partner in the advancement of the school’s mission and vision. The CSO provides executive leadership over operational functions, including the Community Relations and Technology Departments based in Temecula, as well as the Marketing, Events, and Field Trips Departments. The CSO also provides direct oversight of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and the Assessment Department, ensuring alignment of student support services, intervention systems, and data-driven decision-making across all academies.
Additionally, the CSO works with the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) to support the creation and implementation of innovative, student-centered programs, and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements specific to California charter schools. The CSO oversees the timely and accurate submission of reports related to operations, grants, student programs, MTSS, assessment data, and accountability metrics, working cross-departmentally to ensure transparency and alignment with regulatory standards. The CSO supports in the development and facilitating of professional learning for teachers and staff, supports leadership capacity-building, and manages executive-level special projects on behalf of the CEO. This is a high-impact role that demands visionary leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to educational innovation and student success.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
*Administrative Credential with a master’s degree in an education-related field – or equivalent experience and qualifications.
*10 years of educational experience/leadership is preferred. Experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility in leadership/mentoring – work experience in a non-education context will also be considered.
* Strong administrative/organizational/time-management skills required with a demonstrated capacity to multitask/prioritize, and work independently with limited direction.
* Demonstrate effective management skills – leadership, planning, budgeting, evaluation and effective communication skills.
* Demonstrate effective staff and public relations skills.
* Knowledge of California laws and regulations for Public and Charter Schools, budget development and management, and implementation of curriculum and educational reform models.
* State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.
* Proof of a clear TB Tine test dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
* Valid California Driver’s License.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Responsibilities:
* Serve as a member of the Executive Cabinet and strategic advisor to the CEO.
* Provide executive oversight of operational departments, including Community Relations, Technology (Temecula-based), Marketing, Events, and Field Trips. Attend in-person at least 3-4 times a month to the onsite office(s).
* Use data to evaluate operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive innovation aligned with student success and organizational priorities.
* Lead the strategic development and implementation of MTSS to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students, ensuring equitable access to supports and resources.
* Oversee the Assessment Department to ensure effective administration of local and state assessments, accurate and timely reporting, and use of assessment data to guide instructional and operational decision-making.
* Use data from MTSS and assessments to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in student achievement and engagement.
* Act as liaison between Elite and the back-office Operations company with any operational needs.
* Ensure timely and compliant submission of all required local, state, and federal reports for California charter schools (e.g., CALPADS, LCAP, SARC, grant reporting).
* Oversee operational aspects of student programs, grants, and accountability metrics in collaboration with department leads.
* Partner with the Chief Academic Officer to support the design and implementation of innovative, student-centered initiatives across all academies.
* Manage executive-level special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the CEO.
* Develop and facilitate professional development sessions for staff focused on operations, compliance, leadership development, and school-wide initiatives.
* Build leadership capacity through mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and project alignment with strategic goals.
* Monitor and optimize operational workflows to ensure efficiency, transparency, and alignment with Elite’s mission.
* Represent the CEO in designated meetings or initiatives as needed.
General Expectations:

- Travel required to main office/warehouse, as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned.
Use of Computer Technology:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of database software, how to use the internet to find information and complete tasks, email usage, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. The employee is expected to acquire and maintain a working computer with an internet connection and a printer.
