Pajaro Valley Unified School District is accepting applications for Information Systems Technician II at the Food & Nutrition Services Department. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director, Technology, provide end-user support in daily tasks and long term projects relating to Information Systems. Assist with data integrity to ensure accurate reporting at the district, state and federal levels. Works with a variety of Information Systems to support student and staff accounts and system integration. Performs advanced workstation setup and configuration, troubleshooting of complicated software and workstation problems, provides general data processing support functions, and advanced help desk support and advanced database management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college level coursework in computer science, business administration or a related field and three years’ experience in computer support and configuration, relational database management or Structured Query Language (SQL). Experience in workstation and software installation; technical support in decentralized and diverse computing environments; hardware, software, and basic network troubleshooting; and recent experience in computer and end-user support related to current releases of Microsoft Windows and Apple software is required. Successful candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list according to the examination score. Final selection will then be made in accordance with Merit System rules from the established eligibility list. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees. PAY DAYS: Permanent employees are paid on the last working day of each month. PROBATION AND SALARY POLICY: Classified positions have a one hundred and thirty days (130) probationary period. New employees typically start on the first step. Any probationary or permanent employee will receive an annual step increment July 1st following fiscal year. Additional step increases occur yearly thereafter until the sixth salary step is achieved. Employees who work less than twelve (12) months per year and/or eight (8) hours per day should calculate their pay rate on an hourly basis and/or refer to hourly rates on the Classified Salary schedule. Permanent positions designated bilingual or signing will receive an additional 5% stipend upon passing the appropriate District examination.
