"On call", temporary. You may be called to work with little advance notice, for one day or multiple day jobs. BASIC FUNCTION: Assist certificated staff in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special education students in a classroom setting, job site and/or community based program; assist students with daily living activities and developing behavioral skills; perform a variety of instructional support activities to assist students in learning curriculum. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Instructional Assistant-Special Education ($20.12): Responsible for providing grade-level academic support to students with mild to moderate disabilities. Instructional Assistant-Special Education/Moderate-Severe Disability ($20.12): Responsible for providing academic support to students with severe cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Instructional Assistant-Special Education/Behavioral Intervention ($21.13): Responsible for providing academic support to students with significant aggressive and/or other behavioral difficulties. As a sub, you will pick up jobs via Frontline. Position classifications are usually posted in the job description.
Requirements / Qualifications
Instructional Assistant $20.12 - $21.13: - Valid CPR/First Aid certification. Online certifications accepted. - Proof of at least 48 college units, an associate's degree or higher OR Pass an assessment provided by the Carlsbad Unified School District that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and math.
------------------ REQUIRED FOR ALL SUB POSITIONS: - Negative TB test results less than 4 years old. No risk assessments will be accepted. - Valid ID - Signed Social Security Card - MANDATORY EMPLOYMENT DISCLOSURE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY SECTION; This is REQUIRED by CA State Law. Please COMPLETE even if you add a resume and/or the work experience section. It is asking for all previous work with educational organizations private or public.
