Job Summary
Fremont Unified School District is seeking a collaborative and knowledgeable Program Specialist to support our Special Education Department. This certificated position plays a critical role in assisting with the development and implementation of high-quality special education programs and services across the district. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in instructional supports, behavioral strategies, IEP implementation, and compliance with special education law. This role involves working closely with school staff, families, and district teams to promote equitable outcomes for students with disabilities from preschool through transition-age youth (0–22).
Requirements / Qualifications
• Resume and cover letter • 2 Letters of Recommendations (within 2 years of application date), at least one from administrator or supervisor.) • Copies of ALL transcripts noting BA Degree (foreign transcripts have been evaluated for US equivalency by a CTC approved agency). • Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience working with students with disabilities. • Strong understanding of IEP development, service coordination, and federal/state special education regulations. • Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with educators, administrators, and families. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required Credential (one of the following): • California Education Specialist Instruction Credential • California Pupil Personnel Services Credential • California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential
Desirable Qualifications: • Training or certification in behavior supports (e.g., BCBA or enrollment in a BCBA program). • Experience supporting students across a range of settings and disability types. • Knowledge of preschool and transition-age services (0–22). • Administrative Services Credential (optional).
