Ocean View School District is excited to announce that the DLI program is quickly expanding and will be opening up a 7th grade DLI Social Science teacher position at Mesa View Middle School. This position will also teach English Language Development (ELD).
Requirements / Qualifications
Basic Functions: Under the direction of the Principal, the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Teacher serves as the primary classroom instructor for students in the Dual Language Immersion elementary and/or middle school setting. The DLI Teacher works collaboratively to plan, develop, implement, monitor, and assess a comprehensive educational program for students of the Spanish Dual Language. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree • Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential with an Authorization in Social Science • EL Authorization or equivalent • BCLAD/Bilingual Authorization in Spanish or equivalent
Experience: • Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English; • One year of successful teaching experience in an education setting is preferred.
Interview Process: • The Spanish Dual Language Immersion Teacher interview process will consist of three components: a writing sample, a recorded mini lesson plan, and an in-person interview. After the closing of the posting, an email with the writing prompt and mini-lesson plan information will be sent to the selected candidates. • The writing sample and mini lesson plan will be reviewed before the interview.
