POSITION DETAILS:
Assignment Term: 2026-2027 school year

Schedule: Grades 1-5: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 AM - 2:45 PM (Includes a 45-minute unpaid break for lunch) Grades TK-K: 6 additional hours a week (3 hours on Wednesdays and Fridays)


Position Summary:

Westlake Elementary is seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Elementary PE Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing physical education instruction to students in grades TK-5. This role involves facilitating structured games and activities for up to 32 students at a time, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles in a fun and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging physical education lessons and activities for students in grades 1-5.

  • Facilitate structured games and activities that encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  • Adapt activities to accommodate students of varying abilities and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and active participation.

  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support overall student development and well-being.

  • Maintain and organize equipment and supplies used during physical education classes.


Qualifications:.

  • Previous experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children, particularly in a physical education setting.

  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and games suitable for elementary students.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, run, and participate in physical activities for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies.


Compensation:  $20-25 hourly based on experience and qualifications.


 



 
 

 

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
Graduation from high school or equivalency.
