Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director of Special Education is responsible for all matters of school administration related to special education services for Peabody Charter School. This includes all services related to all student needs, including but not limited to, students with mild/moderate/severe needs. The leader envisions, cultivates, and leads the charge in ensuring that students receiving special education services reach ambitious IEP goals and make significant growth in achievement. They also oversee staff and systems and monitor that all services and compliance reporting related to special education are in place so that all students are afforded the appropriate FAPE in the least restrictive environment. In addition, the Director of Special Education oversees gifted testing and programming. This systems leader supervises and evaluates the School Psychologist, the SPED team, and special education providers to ensure strong programming that aligns with the school’s current MTSS program.
