Coachella Valley Unified School District covers more than 1,200 square miles of mostly rural desert terrain, serving the communities of Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Indio, and the Salton Sea. The district currently operates fifteen elementary schools, three middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, one continuation high school, and one adult school.
