Job Summary

The ideal candidate for the Winds Program Coordinator position is an accomplished and collaborative music educator with expertise in wind and percussion instruction, ensemble leadership, and student mentorship. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of instrumental pedagogy, rehearsal techniques, and the artistic and developmental needs of middle and high school musicians, along with experience conducting wind ensembles, chamber ensembles, and related instrumental groups in preparation for high-level performances and festivals. Active professional engagement as a performer and/or conductor, as well as familiarity with current trends in music performance and music education, is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate performances, festivals, auditions, honor ensembles, and student activities while supporting the daily operations of a dynamic conservatory program. The ideal candidate is student-centered, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and artistically rigorous ensemble culture. Applicants must possess strong administrative and collaborative skills, including experience with scheduling, communications, databases, and event coordination, and must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a leadership team. The successful candidate will contribute positively to the continued growth, visibility, and excellence of the Winds Program and Instrumental Music Conservatory.
