Job Summary
A 7th grade girls volleyball coach at a comprehensive middle school is responsible for developing student-athletes’ fundamental volleyball skills while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive competitive spirit. The coach plans and leads practices, teaches game strategies, and supervises student participation during games and tournaments. They create a safe, inclusive environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of all players. Additionally, the coach communicates with school staff, families, and administration, ensures adherence to school and league policies, and encourages academic responsibility alongside athletic participation.
Requirements / Qualifications
Prior coaching experience with school age youth is preferred, though qualified candidates with comparable experience are encouraged to apply.
Application Requirements: -Completed EdJoin Application -Letter of Introduction (Please state the position(s) that you are applying for) REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL COACHES (once selected): - NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching & the CA State Component - Concussion Certificate - Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate - Valid CPR Certificate - Valid First Aid Certificate - Heat Acclimatization Certificate - TB test - Guidelines for the Workplace & Youth Sports Protocol & Recommendations (link will be provided) - Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse Certificate) - Fingerprint clearance (once hired, the applicant will receive an appointment from Human Resources for the fingerprint process)

The salaries to be paid for extra duty assignments are based on a percentage of Column Il of the existing salary schedule. Internal candidates will be considered first with Certificated personnel being priority followed by classified and other personnel.
