Novato Unified School District (NUSD) has approximately 800 staff members who, along with the larger school community, are responsible for the education of 7,100 students. We have eight elementary schools (including one dual-language immersion and one TK-8 school), two middle schools, and two comprehensive high schools. NUSD also has an Alternative Education Center housing a continuation school and an independent study student program serving grades 6-12. All schools within Novato Unified offer special education services, along with Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), and special assistance is provided for all English learner students. Novato Unified School District is excited to find a 0.8 FTE, Student Support Coordinator, with prior experience with school-based counseling and mental health services. The ideal schedule would be 4 days per week but there is flexibility with the schedule. The ideal applicant would be coming to us with a preliminary or clear California Administrative Services Credential.

Bilingual Spanish preferred Possession of a Masters of Social Work and/or related field, or possession of a valid Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification/license or Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling, Social Work or School Psychology At least three (3) years’ experience in mental health coordination, outreach, education and case management Experience collaborating with community-based organizations (CBOs) and other local agencies Experience providing case management, counseling, and facilitating support groups Experience supervising employees and student interns Prior experience with school-based counseling and mental health highly desirable
