Job Summary

The SDCOE is recruiting for walk-on Girls Head Basketball and Assistant Basketball Coach at San Pascual Academy in Escondido. The position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Prior coaching experience is preferred. Anticipated season date is July 1 - November 30. SDCOE's Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) provide a fully accredited educational program for school-age youth. San Pasqual Academy is a residential education campus designed specifically for foster youth and serves as a placement option for dependents of the Juvenile Court.

  • Copy of valid First Aid and CPR (Child/Adult) certification as issued by an American Red Cross or an American Heart Association-approved program

Work Clearance for this position includes the following items - specific instructions will be communicated during onboarding from our Preemployment team.

  • recent Tuberculosis skin test
  • Current Clearinghouse fingerprinting (DOJ & FBI)
  • Mandated Reporter and safety trainings
  • valid First Aid and CPR (Child/Adult) certification

It is important to note to become a substitute/limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs up to $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost) if processed using SDCOE fingerprinting services. In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional cost up to $77 (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck). Fingerprints can be paid in the form of a money order, cashier's check, or debit/credit card. If paid by card, you may incur a card processing fee.
