Job Summary

Job Summary

Works independently under the general supervision of the Child Development Program Director to operate and maintain the preschool programs to the standards set by the California Department of Education, Community Care Licensing-Title 22, and the Lake County Office of Education. The Site Supervisor/Itinerant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, direct learning and recreational activities, and maintain an environment that is safe, appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children enrolled in the program. Facilitates and maintains program organization through appropriate and accurate record keeping and reporting requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications

Permits: • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Education: • AA (or 60 units) which includes: • 24 ECE/CD units with cores courses, as specified on the Child Development Permit Matrix; • 16 GE units, as specified on the Child Development Permit Matrix; • 6 administration units; • 2 adult supervision units. OR: • BA or higher with 12 units of ECE/CD, plus 3 units of supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting. Experience: • 4 years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.

The employee will be a member of the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS); LCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
