Job Summary
The Coach is responsible for leading and developing a positive, competitive, and student-centered athletic program that supports the school’s mission and values. This role includes planning and conducting practices, developing student-athletes’ skills, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development, and ensuring the safety and supervision of students during practices, competitions, and team activities. The Coach works collaboratively with school administration, athletic staff, students, and families to foster a successful athletic experience while maintaining compliance with school policies, league regulations, and applicable athletic governing body requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Knowledge of sport-specific rules, strategies, conditioning, and skill development • Ability to supervise and motivate student-athletes in a positive, structured environment • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, staff, and administration • Commitment to sportsmanship, character development, teamwork, and student success • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and model positive behavior • Must be available for after-school practices, games, tournaments, and occasional weekend events • Ability to travel with students to away games and events • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start) • Completion of all required school onboarding, background clearance, and Live Scan fingerprinting • TB clearance • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability • Ability to meet CIF and school eligibility requirements Preferred Qualifications • Previous high school coaching experience • Experience working with adolescents in an educational or athletic setting • Knowledge of CIF rules, student eligibility requirements, and athletic compliance expectations • Experience organizing practices, player development, and game strategy • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
