Job Summary
The Digital Media Arts course provides students with opportunities to explore creative storytelling, visual communication, and multimedia production through a variety of digital and traditional media. Instruction aligns with the California Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Media Arts Standards, guiding students through the creative process of creating, presenting, and connecting media artworks. Students learn how to plan, design, produce, and share media projects using tools such as photography, podcasting, video production, digital storytelling, graphic design, and school media communication. Projects encourage student voice, creativity, collaboration, and leadership while also exposing students to career pathways connected to media production, communications, and digital design. Students complete major media projects approximately every six weeks, allowing them to experience the full media arts cycle of idea development, production, revision, and presentation.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Credential Copy (Art Credential preferred; however, this elective course can be taught with any Single Subject or Multiple Subject Credential, issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (with consent to work outside credential area).)
- English Learner Authorization (If EL authorization is embedded in teaching credential be sure you attach the proper version of your credential that includes detail; otherwise attach EL authorization as a separate document.)
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 letters required)
