Job Description
JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher
HOURS/MONTHS: As needed by the District.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Day - to - day service (not necessarily in the same assignment)
Full Day of Service: $225
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Superintendent/Principal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid California’s driver’s license
- Possession of a valid California Credential-showing expiration dates
- Copy of a valid 30-Day Substitute Teaching Credential –showing expiration dates
- BA on Transcripts-CBEST scores.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Follow lesson plans effectively; responsible for utilization of functional student growth and development by identifying student needs, and refer to appropriate resources.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to various family and cultural patterns in planning and following classroom activities.
- Maintain attractiveness and cleanliness of room environment.
- Work cooperatively with District staff, support personnel, local school staff, and parents to coordinate effective learning activities for students.
- Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during assigned work-time, and accept responsibility for maintaining behavior standards school-wide.
- Maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a desirable learning atmosphere in and out of the classroom.
- Provide a classroom climate and learning experience that will further the emotional, physical, social, and mental development of the student.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must attach copy of 30-Day Substitute Teaching Credential or copy of approved Temporary County Certificate issued by ICOE.
