Requirements / Qualifications
THE POSITION: The ideal candidate for the Project Specialist in the Student Programs division would have excel proficiency creating spreadsheets, data import and support services experience as it relates to truancy for school programs. The Project Specialist works in collaboration with a variety of school and agency staff to develop systems, procedures, materials, and supports to assist the Alameda County Office of Education to meet its goals. Experience in schools working attendance reporting systems and working with student populations is highly desired. The Project Specialist facilitates continuous improvement in assigned areas, including troubleshooting, planning, documenting, and training to assure that project requirements are fulfilled and implemented. This job reports to Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Work with data sets that frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines. Develops formats, processes, procedures, and systems for the purpose of implementing and monitoring the assigned projects. Prioritizes incoming projects and assists with developing project deliverables. Oversees the follow-up on project deliverables to ensure timelines are met. Assists in the development of communications and reporting in assigned areas. Organizes and facilitates committees and task forces of diverse membership. Plans and coordinates strategic agendas for ongoing meetings and special events. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Minimum of three (3) years job related experience in professional project management support is required. Experience in a school setting or public educational agency is preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
