Under the direction of the Director of the Conservatory and the Dean of Arts, Conservatory Teachers plan, develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive educational program for students in the skills of their specified art discipline, create a supportive and flexible learning environment to nurture each student’s personal growth, and collaborate with colleagues to reflect on and refine instructional practice.

The Conservatory Teacher -- Acting Instructor for the On Stage! class leads an introductory acting and performance course designed for young singing actors, with instruction focused on dramatic storytelling for the lyric stage. Working in collaboration with the class pianist/co-instructor, the instructor guides students through foundational acting techniques, text analysis, stage movement, ensemble performance, and the integration of vocal performance with dramatic action. The role includes preparing students for a culminating public performance in partnership with the Opera Scenes class, with significant emphasis on ensemble work. Additional responsibilities include assessing student progress in alignment with curricular objectives, collaborating with the Classical Voice Director on instructional planning and evaluation, participating in curriculum and staff meetings, and communicating student progress with school administration.

No credential is necessary at the time of applying. However, the selected candidate will be required to obtain a Preliminary Career Technical Education (CTE) credential during the onboarding process and before the start of their assignment and a Clear CTE credential within three years.
