Position Summary The SHC Head Girls Basketball Coach will serve year-round and is responsible for and essential to the leadership and oversight of Sacred Heart Cathedral’s (SHC) girls basketball program, program development, and all related activities. The SHC Head Girls Basketball Coach plays a vital role in fostering character development, athletic excellence, and a culture of discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. This position emphasizes not only skill development but also the holistic growth of student-athletes as individuals and members of the school community.The SHC Head Girls Basketball Coach will additionally work collaboratively with the Athletic Department and SHC school leadership in conjunction with The SHC Plan for the future of SHC’s athletic program that advances the school’s mission and embraces the pursuit of excellence with respect to the school’s tradition, community, and competitive success. In alignment with The SHC Plan (strategic vision), the SHC Head Girls Basketball Coach will mentor and develop coaches and student-athletes grounded by strong personal values and integrity and a commitment to the school’s charisms and values. Overall, as an influential leader within the community, the Head Girls Basketball Coach is committed to SHC’s Lasallian Vincentian Catholic mission and cultivates a culture of athletic excellence, service-oriented leadership, and positive sportsmanship. The Head Girls Basketball Coach builds positive relationships between members of the Sacred Heart Cathedral internal and external community. The Head Girls Basketball Coach serves as a prominent public leader and a primary ambassador for the Sacred Heart Cathedral community, embodying the school’s values and mission to student-athletes, families, and the broader public. Certifications and/or Licensure Required: Candidates must clear fingerprinting background checks and complete required trainings and certifications Current first aid, CPR and AED certification Valid CA Driver’s License
