Job Summary
The Assistant Principal for Special Education is a key member of the school’s leadership team, reporting directly to the Principal and working collaboratively to support the overall success of the school. This position provides primary oversight of all special education programs and services, including curriculum development and implementation, Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The Assistant Principal ensures the effective coordination and monitoring of IEPs, supervises student assessment and evaluation processes, and promotes high-quality instructional practices for students with diverse learning needs. Requirements / Qualifications
ACADEMIC TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS: - Master's Degree. - Valid appropriate California Administrative Credential authorizing service as a high school assistant principal. EXPERIENCE: - Strong background with a record of successful experience as a teacher; ability to provide leadership in standards-based curriculum and instruction to the staff at the high school level. OTHER PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: - Ability to involve, establish rapport, and work effectively with high school teachers, students, counselors, parents and classified personnel; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; sound organizational and planning ability; knowledge of, and involvement with, effective instructional programs.
