Job Summary

Rancho Bernardo High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Junior Varsity Sideline Cheer Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. This position works under the direction of the Head Cheer Coach and supports the overall cheer program. The ideal candidate will have prior high school sideline cheer coaching experience, a strong understanding of stunting techniques, and a commitment to student-athlete development. The JV coach will help build a positive team culture and prepare athletes for progression within the program. Requirements / Qualifications

Key Responsibilities: • Work under the direction of the Head Cheer Coach to support program goals and expectations • Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture • Plan, coordinate, and lead organized, effective team practices that promote skill development and team cohesion • Teach and supervise proper sideline cheer techniques, with an emphasis on safe and effective stunting • Plan and lead organized, engaging, and development-focused practices • Attend all JV cheer events with the team • Collaborate with the Varsity coach and overall cheer program staff • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, cheer coaches, and school staff • Assist with game-day preparation and sideline performance execution • Ensure compliance with PUSD and RBHS policies and procedures

Required Qualifications: • Previous sideline cheer coaching experience at the high school level preferred • Strong knowledge and experience in stunting and cheer safety protocols • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes • PUSD hiring requirements, including: o Background check o Tuberculosis clearance o Fingerprint Clearance
