Job Summary
This position is responsible to collaborate and work closely with the IVA Middle School Principal and Dean of Students to support the social-emotional wellbeing for all students at IVA. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting students’ social emotional needs, addressing behavior and discipline through restorative processes, providing individual and group counseling, implementing specialized program interventions, acting as a community resource liaison and providing attendance intervention support. The role of this position is to provide and supervise interventions that support the needs of the individual within the community. IVA hires educators in every position who are passionate about their content area and desire meaningful and ongoing growth in their own personal intellectual character. It is our desire that every member of our community flourishes. The Counselor functions as a valuable thought-partner working closely with the leadership team to implement the school’s intellectual character mission and vision.
