Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Executive Director or designee, the Disabilities/Mental Health Coordinator ensures that the programs adhere to the Head Start Act regulations/ Performance Standards, and state and local requirements regarding mental health and special needs services for young children birth to five years old. Continued operation of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program and employment of staff is dependent on the availability of Federal Funding.

Requirements / Qualifications

A combination of formal education, life experience and work experience are considered when evaluating qualifications. Experience: Knowledge of Special Education & Mental Health services for children birth to five years old. A minimum of three years recent experience working with families and children is required. Education: A Bachelor’s degree or above in Child Development, Special Education, Social Work or related field with a valid Child Development Permit (minimum of Site Supervisor level) is required.

  • Copy of Transcript (Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Special Education, Social Work or related field)
