Please note that this position is not a match for candidates requiring emergency credentials, permits, internships, or those unable to independently conduct IEPs without oversight from a fully credentialed staff member. In accordance with California regulations, a fully credentialed special education teacher must oversee all aspects of IEP development, implementation, and assessments. As such, only fully credentialed candidates will be considered for this role.

Major Duties & Responsibilities -Instructional Leadership: Implement highly structured, research-based programs for students with emotional/behavioral needs in a self-contained SELPA setting. -Case Management: Plan and facilitate IEPs, transition plans, and behavioral interventions (BIPs) that meet all state and federal compliance standards. -Collaboration: Partner with the service providers, general education teachers, and parents to ensure "total child" support and successful mainstreaming. -Professional Growth: Participate in specialized training (specialized curriculum, reporting, and behavioral approaches) to maintain current best practices. Knowledge & Abilities -Behavioral Expertise: Deep knowledge of Social-Emotional/Behavioral disorder, social-emotional and behavior intervention strategies, data collection, unsafe physical behaviors, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) strategies. -Data-Driven Instruction: Skilled in collecting and analyzing student data to modify core curriculum and adjust programs in real-time. -Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of Special Education law, District/SELPA policies, and student confidentiality. -Classroom Management: Ability to direct instructional aides, deliver multi-ethnic inclusive lessons, both classroom wide and individual classroom management skills, and manage diverse student needs.

-Disclosure of Convictions: All candidates with a record of convictions are required to disclose this information in the designated sections of the EDJOIN application. A conviction record will not automatically disqualify an applicant; however, failure to disclose all convictions may lead to disqualification from the hiring process or dismissal if hired.
-Please note that these fingerprints are separate from any fingerprints completed with any other organizations, including the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and are required for employment. Fingerprint clearances do not transfer to or from Arcadia Unified.
2. Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance:
-Newly hired employees must provide proof of TB clearance. This can be a Mantoux Skin screening or a risk assessment and certificate of completion, dated within 60 days of your hire date, indicating freedom from active tuberculosis.
3. Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9):

4. Prior Employment Disclosure (AB 2534/SB848):
-Effective January 1, 2026, Education Code sections 44939.5 and 44051 require all applicants for certificated and non-certificated (classified) positions to provide a complete list of all prior school employers.
