The Museum School is seeking a dynamic, multi-talented educator to join our team in a unique dual-role position. This role is designed for a creative professional who can bridge the gap between linguistic fluency and musical expression, fostering a rich cultural environment for our students. We are looking for an individual who thrives in an unconventional, project-based learning environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality instruction in both Spanish Language and Music Education. Position Overview This position is currently structured as a 0.80 FTE (4 days per week) role, split evenly between two disciplines: Spanish Instruction: 2 days per week. Music Instruction: 2 days per week. Alternative Staffing Option: While we prefer a single candidate for this dual role, we are also open to hiring two separate 0.40 FTE positions (2 days per week each) for candidates specializing strictly in either Spanish or Music. Key Responsibilities Spanish Language: Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curricula that emphasize conversational fluency, grammar, and a deep appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures. Music Education: Lead students in exploring music theory, history, and performance, with an emphasis on hands-on creation and potentially integrating world music influences. Museum Integration: Utilize the "Museum School" model by incorporating object-based learning, field experiences, and curated exhibits into daily lessons. Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level teams to integrate Spanish and Music into broader interdisciplinary projects. Candidate Qualifications Linguistic Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required.
