The Elementary Classroom Aide supports teachers in creating a nurturing, structured, and faith-filled learning environment for young students. This role focuses on assisting with classroom management, supervising children during recess and transitions, helping with basic academic tasks such as grading and preparation, and contributing to the daily life of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment
Help students stay focused, organized, and engaged in learning activities
Provide individual or small-group support to reinforce lessons
Prepare materials, organize supplies, and assist with classroom setup and displays
Academic Assistance:
Support teachers with grading simple assignments, organizing student work, and tracking completion Assist with preparing worksheets, crafts, and hands-on learning activities
Help students with basic skills such as reading, writing, and following directions
Student Supervision:
Supervise students during recess, lunch, and transitions between activities
Ensure student safety and promote kindness, inclusion, and respectful behavior
Assist with playground management and conflict resolution in age-appropriate ways
Communication & Teamwork:
Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff
Share observations about student behavior and needs
Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings
Faith & School Community:
Support and model Catholic values in daily interactions
Participate in prayer, Mass, and religious activities with students
Foster a caring and respectful classroom community
Physical Requirements:
Ability to actively supervise young children, including standing, walking, and outdoor supervision
Ability to assist with classroom setup and light lifting
Work Schedule:
Full-Time or Part-Time
Requirements / Qualifications
1.High school diploma required; coursework in education or child development preferred 2.Experience working with elementary-aged children strongly preferred 3.Patience, warmth, and the ability to work well with young learners 4.Strong organizational and communication skills 5.Willingness to support the mission and values of a Catholic school
