Job Summary

New Opportunities Organization is seeking collaborative, highly motivated teachers to join our instructional team. We are looking for educators with a strong foundation in core academic subject areas, including Math, Science, English, and Social Science. Our teachers are in a unique position to make an immediate and meaningful impact by delivering high-quality instruction grounded in strengths-based pedagogy. We serve adult learners (18+) working toward earning their high school diploma, and we are committed to supporting their academic and personal success. While the current vacancy is based at one of our community school sites, New Opportunities also operates three school sites within correctional facilities—two in downtown Los Angeles and one in Lynwood. In alignment with our mission, all candidates must be open to traveling between sites and willing to teach in correctional facility settings as needed.

Requirements to be considered for the High School Diploma (HSD) teacher position: -A valid California Teaching Credential in the following categories: Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, or Single Subject Teaching Credential in a core academic subject area(s) -English Language Learner Authorization -Experience with Independent Studies curriculum preferred not required -Bilingual preferred not required
