Position Description

 

Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Art Department. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Art instructors (below). Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview.

Courses offered: ARTH 3 - Survey of Western Art from Prehistory through the Middle Ages ARTH 5 - Survey of Western Art from Renaissance to Contemporary ARTH 7 - Arts of Africa, Oceania, and Indigenous North America ARTH 9 - Art of the Ancient Americas ARTH 11 - Survey Asian Arts ARTH 19 - Contemporary Art: 1945-Present

 

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• Master's in art history, history of art and architecture; OR 

• Master's in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history; OR 

• The equivalent; OR 

• Valid lifetime credential that authorizes service as an art history instructor in a California Community College; OR 

• The equivalent; AND 

• Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.

 

MEETING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DOES NOT ASSURE THE CANDIDATE OF AN INTERVIEW. Applications will be evaluated taking into account the breadth and depth of relevant education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Community college teaching experience. Degree concentration, teaching experience, and/or research in one of the course areas. Ability to teach in-person on the Rancho Cucamonga campus
