The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Child Development Center Assistant (CDCA) Logan Memorial Education Campus. This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This list will be good for one month with the possibility to be extended. The Child Development Center Assistant provides assistance to the instructional program in classrooms, resource centers, halls, and playgrounds at a Children's Center, Child Development Center, or State Preschool.

Requirements / Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Education: High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associate’s degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Specialized Units: 12 core units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. Montessori Experience: Montessori Certification (ages 0-3) OR 1-2 years of experience in a Montessori infant/toddler setting.

APPLICANTS WHO FAIL TO PROVIDE PROOF OF EDUCATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE): Applicants who do not have 48 or more eligible units of college-level coursework, will be invited to take the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE). Candidates must attach a copy of a U.S. High School Diploma, U.S. High School Transcript, GED, or Foreign Equivalency Certificate to the online application to be admitted to the exam.
