ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the site administrator, the Athletic Director serves as liaison between the coaching staff and the administration of the school by supervising the overall interscholastic athletic program of the High School; meeting all league commitments; and abiding by all regulations of the School; the District, the league, and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), San Diego Section.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Assists the site administrator in the selection of personnel for head coaching positions.
? After consultation with the head coach of the sport involved, the Athletic Director shall make recommendations to the site administrator on the assignment of assistant coaches.
? Prepares the team schedule for each sport in coordination with the school activity calendar.
? Secures paid game or meet officials and other necessary personnel for athletic contests.
? Arranges site preparation for all athletic contests.
? Secures the necessary equipment and supplies for each athletic contest.
? Arranges for all team transportation needs.
? Prepares a bus schedule for each sport with departure and arrival times.
? In consultation with the head coach, establishes specifications for supplies, equipment, and services for each sport.
? Prepares purchase requisitions for supplies, equipment, and services.
? Supervises the receipt and processing of supplies and equipment.
? Maintains an inventory of athletic equipment and supplies.
? In conjunction with the head coach, identifies items to be repaired, renovated, or laundered.
? Coordinates the use of athletic facilities on the assigned campus.
? Recommends improvements and alterations of athletic facilities.
? Arranges for physical examinations of all athletics.
? Arranges for EMT services for football season.
? Confirms that all athletes have appropriate insurance.
? Represents the athletic department to adult groups promoting school athletic programs.
? Prepares budget requests for the athletic department in consultation with the coaches and site administrator.
? Exercises budget control for the department
? Submits requests for entry fees, payment of officials, and other services or materials to the Business Office Clerk.
? In conjunction with the Activities Director and other athletic booster groups, establishes appropriate awards performance in athletics.
? Arranges appropriate award ceremonies.
? Encourages community interest and involvement in the athletic program.
? Serves as the contact with newspapers and media relative to the athletic program.
? Responds to all pertinent questionnaires and circulates all CIF information to appropriate coaches.
? Arranges team participation in athletic tournaments as directed by the site administrator.
? Confirms eligibility of all student athletes.
? Serves as department representative to athlete meetings as directed by the site administrator.
? Coordinates insurance protection for athletes.
? Carries out other tasks and responsibilities on behalf of the athletic program as assigned by the site administrator.

Requirements / Qualifications
CPR/First Aid certified.
Letter of Introduction, Resume, and a completed Ed-join application. Qualified applicants will be required to clear fingerprint and TB test.
