JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the site administrator, the Middle School Teacher (Grades 6–8) provides standards-based instruction through an Integrated Thematic Instruction (ITI) framework and High Expectations Teaching (HET) practices. The teacher designs and facilitates engaging, cross-disciplinary learning experiences that promote academic achievement, critical thinking, and student agency. The teacher is responsible for delivering differentiated instruction across core content areas, supporting the whole child through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Instruction may occur in both teacher-led and independent/hybrid learning settings.

Professional Qualifications: 

  1. Ability to work closely with a team of teachers, school administration and school board. 
  2. Willingness to assist with office/school needs as they arise. 
  3. Ability to collaborate with parents. 
  4. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act. 

Experience:

  1. Middle School Teaching experience including combination class exposure is highly desirable. 
  2. Experience in analyzing assessment data for the purpose of guiding instruction.
  3. Knowledge of Google Suite learning platform desirable.
  4. Alternative education experience desirable. 

Instructional Technology (IT) experience and expertise desirable:

  1. Model high quality common core aligned lessons in which technology is effectively infused into the daily instruction, leading to student development of 21st Century Skills.
  2. Successful experience integrating technology in a classroom setting with “at-risk” youth.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues, paraprofessionals and administration to evaluate and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of technology in daily instruction. 
  4. Personal desire to increase professional expertise with Google, Chromebook & i-Ready learning software interactively as learning tools using Promethean Board.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (required) • CLAD or equivalent English Learner authorization • Bachelor’s degree
