DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: E=Essential Duties: Observe referred pupils in the classroom and/or in other learning situations E; individually evaluate cognitive, affective, and sensory functioning of referred pupils E; prepare psychological reports summarizing assessment results, including recommendations for educational management and/or placement E; use appropriate IEP forms and procedures for identification of exceptional students E; consult with school personnel and other professionals about diagnostic findings concerning pupils E; provide teachers with practical suggestions about dealings with difficult pupil behaviors E; assist teachers in developing educational programs E; provide psychological services to selected students E; confer with community resources agencies to obtain needed services for pupils E; confer with parents in school or at home to discuss relevant issues including the pupil’s social and emotional adjustment, test interpretation, and educational goals E; make referrals and serve as a resource person to school staff concerning the functions and responsibilities of community agencies as well as specific learning and behavior problems and effective techniques for dealing with these problems E; provide for continuity of educational planning for pupils by conferring with other school districts about pupils transferring into or out of the district E; other duties as assigned E KNOWLEDGE OF/REQUIREMENTS/ABILITY TO: Local, state and federal regulations as they apply to Special Education; demonstrate ability to work as part of a team; strong interest in innovations, willingness to take initiative; outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills; innovation, intellectually-oriented thinker; technologically literate, with current word processing and database skills QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: 1.
