About San Domenico San Domenico School is a K–12 independent school located on a 515-acre campus in Marin County. The school is rooted in academic excellence and a strong commitment to community, service, and student development. San Domenico offers a comprehensive athletics program that emphasizes competitive integrity, sportsmanship, and balance between academics and athletics. About the Role The Head Women’s Soccer Coach at San Domenico School is responsible for fostering a positive, competitive, and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This role emphasizes the development of both high-level technical soccer skills and personal character, ensuring that the soccer program reflects the school’s core values of study, reflection, community, and service. San Domenico fields competitive women’s interscholastic soccer teams during the winter season, typically running from November through March, inclusive of practices, matches, and postseason play. The Head Coach leads and supervises all aspects of the program, overseeing varsity operations and providing leadership for the overall development of the women's soccer pathway. Practices and matches are held after school on weekdays, with occasional weekend commitments for tournaments or postseason play. The Head Coach plans and executes daily training sessions, manages match-day tactics, and supports student-athletes in balancing their athletic goals with their academic responsibilities. This position plays a vital role within the Athletics Department and reports to the Director of Athletics. The coach works closely with student-athletes, parents, and fellow coaching staff to support a strong team culture and a positive student experience.

Requirements / Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and organize daily practice sessions focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy for players of varying levels. Coach and manage all scheduled matches, including home games on our campus field and away games throughout the region. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes by following school protocols and maintaining a respectful team culture. Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director regarding team progress, scheduling, and equipment needs. Maintain and manage all team equipment and uniforms, ensuring the facilities are used respectfully. Foster strong relationships with parents through clear and timely communication regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress. Coordinate transportation logistics for away matches by driving school vehicles to transport the team. Promote a culture of "Panther Pride" by encouraging high standards of sportsmanship and academic balance for all players. Attend required athletic department meetings, school open house events, and professional development sessions.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of experience coaching tennis, ideally at the high school or collegiate level. Deep knowledge of USTA rules and competitive match strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. Ability to work flexible afternoon hours, including evenings for matches. Valid California driver’s license required (with a clean driving record). Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season starts). Desired Skills: USSF "C" License or United Soccer Coaches National Diploma (or equivalent) is highly preferred. Experience playing at the collegiate or professional level. Experience working in an independent school environment. Strong organizational skills for managing rosters, statistics, and match reporting. A commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for athletes of all backgrounds.

This position is nonexempt, which is eligible for paid overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal law. The position pays $25.00 per hour with an estimated total up to *$6000.00 - $10,000 per interscholastic season. As a limited part-time employee, this position is ineligible for most school benefits. *Placement within the estimated range will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates with fewer years of experience can expect placement toward the lower end of the range.
