Job Summary

Under general direction, performs a variety of technical, specialized and confidential functions in support of the recruitment, employment and other human resources functions involving the District's classified employees; provides information and assistance to employees, job applicants and the general public regarding human resources functions, policies and procedures; prepares and maintains a variety of manual and automated human resources files, records and reports; maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.

Requirements / Qualifications

Examples of Duties: 1. Responds to questions from applicants, employees and the general public regarding classified employment and District policies, procedures, regulations, employee forms, job listings and job applications. 2. Plans, processes and distributes all recruitment material necessary to inform District classified employees of vacancies; conducts appropriate tests and schedules interview sessions. Processes all follow-up materials after selection. 3. Monitors selection procedures to ensure compliance with current human resources procedures/practices, Board policies and bargaining unit agreement. 4. Processes new employees; schedules physicals as required; obtains TB and fingerprint results; coordinates and implements new employee trainings. results; coordinates and implements new employee trainings. 5. Conducts job classification research through review of legislation, Education Code and Board policies, rules and regulations in order to make recommendations for classification changes. 6. Prepares and maintains all human resources files and records of attendance, retirement, termination, leaves of absence, fingerprints, TB clearances, promotions and resignations for classified employees. 7. Prepares all related material and schedules meetings with the classified union representatives as directed. 8. Updates, posts and distributes the bargaining agreements. 9. Prepares and maintains classified employee evaluation lists; distributes lists to department/site supervisors. 10. Prepares and distributes at prescribed timelines, Letters of Reasonable Assurance and "return to work" letters to permanent District classified employees. 11. Processes the submittal of coursework transcripts from classified employees requesting Professional Growth salary increases. 12. Conducts the Summer School recruitment for classified staffing needs. 13. Maintains/revises the Classified Seniority List and handles the distribution of the list.

CVUSD is seeking a motivated candidate to work in a fast passed Human Resources environment. Ideal candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and be a self starter. Required Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or comparable work experience. 3. Knowledge of basic human resources principles; pertinent computer software applications, including spreadsheets; preparation of reports. 4. Ability to: Compose all levels of written correspondence independently, accurately and with correct use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation; communicate effectively in oral and written forms in both English and Spanish; assume responsibility and exercise good judgment; understand and follow oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; understand and apply complex policies, rules, and procedures; maintain confidentiality of privileged information; operate a computer using word processing and spreadsheet software; exercise tact and diplomacy when in dealing with sensitive and confidential information; maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
