Job Description / Essential Elements: Bellflower Unified School District is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Elementary Music Teacher to provide general music instruction to students in grades TK–6 across multiple elementary school campuses within the district. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and the ability to create engaging, standards-based lessons that nurture musical skills, creativity, and appreciation in young learners. Note: This is an itinerant position; the teacher will travel between elementary school sites throughout the district to deliver instruction. Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide general music instruction in accordance with California Arts Standards. - Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in singing, movement, rhythm, instrument playing, and music appreciation. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and musical exploration. - Collaborate with classroom teachers and site administrators to develop a consistent instructional schedule. - Prepare and lead student performances, assemblies, and/or musical showcases as appropriate. -Maintain an organized and mobile music program, transporting necessary instructional materials and instruments between sites. -Manage classroom behavior and establish clear expectations.-Maintain records of student progress and provide feedback to school staff and parents as needed. -Attend required staff meetings, training, and district professional development activities. -Support the mission and goals of the Bellflower Unified School District. Qualifications: -Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Music (Single Subject: Music or Multiple Subject with music experience). -CLAD/BCLAD certification or English Learner Authorization required. -Experience teaching music at the elementary level is preferred. -Strong vocal and/or instrumental music skills. -Proficiency in planning
