Job Summary
The Fiscal Director is the senior financial leader of Peabody Charter School, responsible for the strategic management, integrity, and day-to-day operation of all fiscal functions of an independently authorized TK–6 charter school in Santa Barbara with an annual operating budget of approximately $13 million. Working in close partnership with the Superintendent/Principal and the Board of Directors, the Fiscal Director ensures the school remains financially healthy, fully compliant with applicable California Education Code, charter authorizer requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and positioned to sustain its educational mission over the long term. The Fiscal Director combines technical expertise with the judgment to translate complex financial information for educators, families, board members, and external stakeholders. The role carries meaningful responsibility for organizational continuity, including the deliberate development of internal capacity and documentation that will allow the business office to thrive across leadership transitions.
